About Me

I am a Psychologist with more than twenty-five years of experience serving children, teens, adults, and families. I am also a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) specializing in performance improvement, change, management, and critical incidents. In addition; other specialties such as consulting, training, and behavioral Health Supervision. I have practiced in both urban and rural communities; with diverse populations in various business and non-profit settings.

I am also a member of the American Psychological Association, Minnesota Psychological Association, and the Association of Black Psychologists. I have a Master's degree from Minnesota State University, completed doctoral coursework at the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology, and received a doctorate from the University of Minnesota. I also complete 20 Ce units of training each year as required by the Minnesota Board of Psychology for independent licensure.

In my personal life I am married, an adoptive parent, step parent, and now the father of seven adult children.

My approach to psychotherapy is non-judgmental, solution focused, and Cognitive-Behavioral. I believe that support, acceptance, and practical feedback helps a person address emotional challenges. I am convinced that people grow and change by building on strengths, and  learning new behaviors and insights to attain the positive growth they desire.

I am a calm, kind, and compassionate Psychotherapist with good listening skills. I believe that throughout our lives we are all in progressive stages of developmental  and spiritual growth. If you are seeking support or guidance through a difficult situation; or if you are just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
